Renovation of a road / highway in San Jose, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a road / highway.

The City of San Jose is soliciting responses from qualified vendors for Traffic Detector Loop Replacement. The award for this solicitation will be based on lowest responsive and responsible base bid that meets all specifications. The City may award by line item, lot, or overall lowest cost after application of local business and small business preferences, if applicable. The City's Local and Small Business Enterprise (LBE/SBE) Preference is applicable to this solicitation. If your business has an office in Santa Clara County and a valid City of San Jose Business Tax Certificate, then you should refer to the solicitation documents for further information on applying for this preference. This preference may not be requested after the solicitation closing date/time. The City of San Jose ("City") is soliciting bids from qualified vendors to provide all labor and equipment to replace existing Traffic Loop Detectors for the Department of Transportation. 1.2 Vendor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, and traffic control necessary for the replacement of City owned/maintained Traffic Detector Loops as noted herein and as requested by City. 1.2.1 1.2.2 1.2.3 1.2.4 1.2.5 1.2.6 Replacements shall consist of various defective loops at varied locations. Each existing detector loop for each lane shall be replaced with a Type 'D' (6' x 6') and/or Type 'C' (6' x 20') loop. Detector loops shall conform to the drawings and notes as shown on City Vehicle Detection loop Layout Guidelines, Drawing No. E-71, and E-72 included herein. Detector loops shall conform with City Standard Details along with Caltrans Standard Plan ES-5B requirements. The splice detail is provided for the 'C' and 'D' loop lead-in cable to be permanently. Vendor shall label start (S) and finish (F) and spliced as noted herein.
