Site work, new construction and renovation of a municipal facility in Needham, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a municipal facility; for the renovation of a municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
Phase Two is to construct a new DPW facility at the upper level - 6 bay garage at 470 Dedham Avenue, including a wash bay to help maintain DPW's vehicles and equipment. This facility willhouse the Highway, Parks & Forestry, and Water/Sewer/Drains Divisions, including their equipment and facilities needed for their daily operations. This request is for theconstructionof PhaseTwo. Funding for Phase Two Construction will be requested at the Fall Special Town Meeting in the Fall of 2026, not the spring. This results in a potential 3% reduction in costs, instead of waiting anadditional six months to request this funding at the Annual Town Meeting in FY2028. This schedule also works best with the construction sequence As of June 09, 2025 ,This project is included in the city's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
