Site work and paving for a civil project in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.
MnDOT requests letters of interest for communications and engagement work for road improvements projects for Highway 280 in 2026 and 2028. Contractor will develop and execute a communications and engagement plan and strategies for informing commuters/motorists, businesses, freight, residents and other stakeholders about road improvement projects on Highway 280 from St. Paul to Roseville. In 2026, MnDOT will resurface Highway 280, repair bridges, repair and resurface ramps, repair drainage and make additional improvements. Motorists can expect a full closure of Highway 280 in 2026. In 2028, MnDOT will make safety and accessibility improvements and permanently close the left turn from Highway 280 to Broadway St. N.E. The safety and accessibility improvements are being analyzed and considered. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026 and continue through fall 2028. The goal of this project is to is to create better awareness of and engagement in the road improvements projects on Highway 280 by creating and executing communication and engagement plans and strategies. This includes identifying and informing all users before and during construction about the traffic impacts and delays including a full closure of Highway 280 for the work completed in 2026. Communication will occur in a timely manner, use a variety of communications strategies, and promote the use of 511mn.org and the website for accurate up-to-the-minute information and help ease congestion by educating motorists about alternative routes.
