Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Marion, Ohio. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.

The Marion County Land Reutilization Corporation is accepting bids to perform asbestos hazard abatement and related work and site demolition at the former River Valley High School and the former River Valley Middle School. Any bids received after above referenced time and date will be returned to bidder unopened. The Marion County Land Reutilization Corporation reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive certain informalities or irregularities in bids received. No bids may be withdrawn, after scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, for at least thirty days. Bids will be received for asbestos hazard abatement and related work and demolition. Engineering estimated cost for this project is $285,000 for abatement and $450,000 for site demolition for the River Valley High School. The engineering estimate for the River Valley Middle School is $105,000 for abatement and $450,000 for site demolition. Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in this bid packet, particularly to the Ohio prevailing wage rates, encouragement of Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) utilization, various insurance requirements and state and local demolition permits. INVITATION TO BID #2 The Marion County Land Reutilization Corporation is accepting bids to perform asbestos hazard abatement and related work and site demolition at the former GTE Building. Bid Package No. 1 and No. 2: 1.3.1.1 River Valley High School a. Removal and disposal of approximately 16,000 square feet of asbestoscontaining acoustical ceiling plaster primarily located throughout the classrooms, hallways and offices. b. Removal and disposal of approximately 15,700 square feet of asbestoscontaining 9" floor tile and mastic adhesive is located throughout the building. c. Removal and disposal of approximately 18,000 square feet of asbestoscontaining black mastic adhesive located throughout. d. Removal and disposal of approximately 1,500 linear feet (visible), and 500 linear feet (hidden) of asbestos-containing thermal system pipe and approximately 300 (visible and hidden) associated fitting insulation. e. Removal and disposal of approximately 550 square feet of asbestoscontaining thermal system boiler and tank insulation in the Boiler Room. f. Removal and disposal of approximately 30 square feet of asbestoscontaining Transite heat shield in the boiler room. g. Removal and disposal of one (1) assumed asbestos-containing fire door located at the Boiler Room entrance. h. Removal and disposal of approximately 150 square feet of mastic adhesive associated with chalk boards located throughout the classrooms of the building. i. Removal and disposal asbestos-containing window caulk (approximately 50 windows), masonry caulk on the exterior of the building (approximately 200 linear feet) and three doors j. Removal and disposal of approximately 10 cubic yards of asbestoscontaminated soil in the crawlspaces of the building. k. Removal and disposal of approximately 2,000 square feet of Transite exterior soffits. l. Removal, packaging and proper disposal of any remaining bulbs, tubes, ballasts, mercury ampules and any other remaining universal wastes. 1.3.1.2 River Valley Middle School a. Removal and disposal of approximately 1,000 square feet of asbestoscontaining acoustical ceiling tiles located throughout the building, including ground debris. b. Removal and disposal of approximately 12,500 square feet of asbestoscontaining 9" floor tile and mastic adhesive located throughout the building. c. Removal and disposal of approximately 27,850 square feet of asbestoscontaining black mastic adhesive located throughout. d. Removal and disposal of approximately 350 linear feet (visible and hidden) fitting insulation. e. Removal and disposal of approximately 1,200 square feet asbestoscontaining drywall and joint compound located in the Music Room, Room 172 and Room 177. f. Removal and disposal of approximately 350 square feet of boiler breeching. g. Removal and disposal of one (1) assumed asbestos-containing Transite sink in Room 177. i. Removal and disposal of asbestos-containing caulk (approximately 55 windows), and masonry caulk on the exterior of the building (approximately 200 lf). j. Removal, packaging and proper disposal of any remaining bulbs, tubes, ballasts, mercury ampules and any other remaining universal wastes. Location of Project & County: River Valley High School/River Valley Middle School 1239 - 1267 Columbus Sandusky Road North Marion, Ohio 43302 Marion County Submit all questions in writing concerning the specifications to the Owner's Consultant. If a question should identify a warranted revision to the Specifications or other documents, then a reply will be issued by the Owner's Consultant in writing to all prime bidders by Addendum to the Specifications and will become part of the Contract.
