Demolition, site work and renovation of a military facility in Fort Lewis, Washington. Completed plans call for the demolition of a military facility; for site work for a military facility; and for the renovation of a military facility.
General work will convert two (2) existing barrack buildings into operational facilities for 3 tier levels of command. These buildings in general are referred as the Hammer Heads. The Hammer Handles have three (3) floors with a crawl space at grade elevation. The Hammer Heads are single floor. The Basement area with a main utility mechanical and electrical room extends partially under both the Hammer Head and the Hammer Handle. The definitive removal / demolition work items for each building will require: Hazardous material / debris abatement and removal mostly within the crawl space, Partial at ~ 75 removal / demolition of exterior building envelope, interior walls, etc, Removal at ~ 90 removal of building mechanical - electrical systems, Removal of the existing roof EPDM system (but not the roof framing structure)The definitive repair / new work items for each building will require: New exterior envelope, few building mechanical - electrical systems, New roof TPO system Other considerations for site work coordination, New utility connections (mostly by other entities), and Shared ion boundaries with adjacent current and future projects. In accordance w ith DFARS 236.204(ii), the magnitude of ion is estimated to be between 25,000,000 and 100,000,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. ion Services, supporting the renovation and conversion of two separate and existing 1950's era Barracks Facilities comprising approximately 63,400 SF of combined renovation work. The two facilities are approximately the same size. Building 3221 is a former 165-personnel "hammerhead" barracks facility which is to be converted to indirect fire protection capability (IFPC) with a combined COF/Battalion HQ consisting of a first-floor Battalion HQ with company operations space on the second and third floors. Building 3222 is a former 165-personnel "hammerhead" barracks facility which is to be converted into a combined administration, readiness, and troop aid facility. The project is Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), Washington, supporting the First Multi-Domain Task Force (1st MDTF) Battalion. The two buildings will have similar exterior ion, interior ion, and interior functions. Facility repair, renovation and ion ends at the 5 feet line from the building exterior, with the exceptions of selected site features and various site utility work servicing the buildings. ion s site investigation and mobilization, hazardous materials abatement, selective demolition and deion down to the buildings' existing concrete structural frame, reion of the exterior envelope, (including roof assembly, exterior brick and metal infill wall assemblies), new storefront windows, doors, interior partitions, ceiling, finishes, and spaces, creating a complete and usable facility. ion also includes the demolition and replacement of HVAC, Power, Lighting, Fire-Protection, Telecommunications, SIPR/NIPR, Fire Alarm/Mass Notification system, ed to current UFC requirements. Seismic repairs, including new concrete shear walls, foundations, and steel opening supports are to be provided. Accessibility CIP concrete entry ramps and new painted steel guardrail/handrail assemblies are to be included in the scope of work for building 3221. This ion contract will be managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, and/or their designated AE Service Provider.
