Question Submission Deadline:July 2, 2025, 12:00pm. All respondents are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., Affirmative Action Against Discrimination and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq. A Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Contractor Questionnaire/Certification also must be filed with the bid. The bid package will also include other documents that must be completed and returned with the bid. Failure to comply with Instructions to Bidders and to complete and submit all required forms may be cause for disqualification and rejection of the bid. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(s), (t), (x), (y), 18A:18A-4(a-c), and N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22, and to waive any informalities that may be in the best interest of the board. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, and all incidentals required and/or implied, including temporary rentals, man lifts, cranes and other handling equipment for the complete and satisfactory performance of electrical services on an as needed basis by the Passaic Public School District. This work shall include, but not be limited to, the performance of maintenance, repair, new and future installation and construction of all types of industrial/commercial electrical systems, to be performed by the specified personnel per bid pricing. 1. Include primary service, transformers, distribution center, grounding, power and lighting panels, wiring, outlet boxes, receptacles, lighting fixtures, re-lamping, all devices, switches, conduits, and raceways and all accessories. 2. Modify, relocate and extend existing service to accommodate new work. Re-lamp existing fixtures consistent with building standards. Remove existing systems and wiring which are abandoned. 3. Maintain fire alarm detection and suppression system in operation during construction. 4. Coordinate with the Division of Operations room uses to provide adequate systems for all contract areas. 5. Coordinate location of ductwork and fire protection systems to avoid interference with location of designated lighting fixture locations with the office of Facilities, and other trades. 6. Coordinate schedule of telephone and data outlet completion with the office of Facilities communications requirements and other trades as applicable. 7. Do not cut structural elements without prior written approval. 8. The contractor shall provide the Division of Operations a detailed estimate breakdown for all labor and materials needed for a project with a final lump sum cost. 9. The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment and all incidentals required for and/or implied for the complete and satisfactory installation and/or repair of the district's equipment and systems. This work shall include, but not be limited to, new installations for replacement or for new future areas not currently addressed, maintenance, servicing, repairs, modifications as required, and ancillary equipment related to services as specified herein. Any specialized equipment needing certification from the manufacturer will be under the care of the responsible bidder. 10. Repairs or replacement to include items required but not be limited due to: a) Vandalism b) "Wear and tear" / system failure c) Complete failure or safety issues / obsolete equipment d) Code compliant issues / ADA e) Security/safety issues f) New installations or upgrades Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check or certified check made payable to the Passaic Board of Education, for ten percent (10%) of the amount of the total bid, however, not to exceed $20,000. The successful contractor shall furnish a Performance, Payment and Completion Bond in a sum of at least one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount payable by the terms of his Contract.
