Bids are invited upon the several items and quantities of work as follows: The Work generally includes lining an approximate 7,766 feet of 8 inch diameter sanitary sewer mains, service lateral cleanout installation, T-Liner installation, service lateral reinstatement, and associated appurtenances and the installation of an approximate 1,090 feet of 8 inch diameter sanitary sewer mains A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the VILLAGE OF MALDEN, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. This project is funded in whole or in part with grant funds from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. Attention is called to the fact that 1) not less than the Federal prevailing wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project; 2) The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3, 24 CFR Part 75; and 3) The Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The VILLAGE OF MALDEN reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the VILLAGE OF MALDEN for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. No oral interpretation will be made to any Bidder as to the meaning of the Contract Documents or any part thereof. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing to the Local Public Agency. Any inquiry received seven or more days prior to the date fixed for opening the Bids will be given consideration.
