Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Newton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the construction of a pre-engineered storage facility; for site work for a pre-engineered storage facility; water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

As of January 26, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on Feb 3. Construction of a wood-framed storage and maintenance facility and greenhouse. The scope includes but is not limited to: 1. Site preparation, paving and gravel parking 2. Construction of pre-engineered wood framed pole building. 3. Electrical (Power and Lighting) 4. Mechanical (Plumbing and HVAC) The Project site will be available to commence work starting on Feb 9, 2026. The project shall be substantially complete by October 30, 2026 with final completion on or before November 27, 2026. Bid Proposals must be accompanied by a bid security of five percent (5%) from bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in the same amount. The bid security shall be provided to Jasper County Conservation as security that if the bidder is awarded the contract, the bidder will enter into a contract on the form provided by Jasper County Conservation at the price bid and shall furnish the required performance bond, payment bond and Certificate of Insurance. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance bond, payment bond or Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by Jasper County Conservation as liquidated damages. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades. Bidders may be required to provide evidence of experience with similar project types of similar scale. The Jasper County Conservation Board reserves the right to conduct such investigations as it deems necessary to assist in evaluation of bid proposals and to establish the responsibilities, qualifications, and financial abilities of the proposed bidders, subcontractors, suppliers, or other organizations. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to products and provisions grown and produced within the State of Iowa, and to Iowa domestic labor.
