The project involves the replacement of approximately 10,000 linear feet of existing 4" and 6" waterline and associated valves and fittings throughout the borough as shown on the plans and the replacement of fire hydrants throughout the Borough of Baden., Beaver County, Pennsylvania. The project also includes reconnection of existing customer service lines and surface restoration for all disturbed areas impacted by the construction of the project. All construction items are described in the Contract DocumentsWithout intending to limit and/or restrict the volume of work required by this Contract, the work generally consists of furnishing labor, materials, services, transportation, equipment and appliances necessary to complete the following: 1. Preliminary Investigation: Supplement existing preliminary investigation of the site as required to provide a sound basis for the waterline installation as described by the Contract Documents. These investigations may include, but not be limited to: utility research, site investigations, and others as the Contractor requires to complete the Contract work. a. Preconstruction Videolog: Perform a thorough video inspection of the areas to be impacted by construction activity. This video should show, in detail, the current conditions of the project site (including items inside and nearby the right-of-way including all sidewalks, driveways, lawns, landscaping, etc.) and should be sent the Owner and Engineer via electronic file transfer methods. This record can be used to resolve property owner claims against the Contractor. In the absence of clear documentation to the contrary, property owner grievances shall be upheld against the Contractor and the Contractor shall then be required to remedy any such property damages claimed (e.g., sidewalks, trees, landscaping, etc.) at no expense to the Owner.
