The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified contractors for the installation of two (2) Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station and related buried electrical lines and equipment for the Electric Department. CONTRACTOR may begin work at any time after receiving a Notice to Proceed from the OWNER. This is expected to occur on or about July 1, 2025. All work must be completed by September 30, 2025. All responses must be submitted before the deadline. No late responses will be reviewed. The City is requesting proposals from a qualified company (CONTRACTOR) to install two Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations and related buried electrical lines and equipment at the site listed above. This includes, but not limited to, all work related to supplying power to the EV charger stations as defined in below and the attached drawings. 2.2 CONTRACTOR shall perform the following activities: o Provide and install conduits between utility source and meter pedestal/EV charging station o Provide and install a 200A meter pedestal with double meter sockets - Milbank #U5139-O-200S with K5035 (padmount kit) or - Midwest Electric Products #R281C1B6H034 - Or approved equal o Provide and install concrete foundation for meter pedestal o Provide and install concrete foundation for 2 - EV charging stations o Provide and install meter pedestal and circuit breakers o Install 2-Level 2 EV charging stations (provided by OWNER) o Provide and install wires between utility source and meter pedestal/EV charging station o Make all wiring connections and terminations (unless noted on the drawings) o Provide and install protective bollards (where noted on drawings) o Remove paving (as required) o Restore site (paving and ground cover) to original condition No bidder may withdraw their bid for at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids. CONTRACTOR may begin work at any time after receiving a Notice to Proceed from the OWNER. This is expected to occur on or about July 1, 2025. All work must be completed by September 30, 2025. The City of Ames reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to make such awards as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
