Project Intent and Scope The Scope of Work includes the hardwiring of a trailer-mounted generator into the second-floor tie-breaker generator room at the Detention Center. This includes running cable vertically along the building's exterior using methods that won't damage the stucco, continuing over the parapet and across the roof using a ladder tray system, and making the final connection inside the generator room. The Contractor is to assume 100 LF of cable/wiring and 50 LF of ladder rack system for bidding purposes. The existing generator is a 1000 kW Caterpillar 3512. The specifications are attached hereto as "Attachment B". All electrical work must be properly grounded, labeled, and integrated with the existing system. Any power shutdowns must be coordinated in advance with facility management and must not impact jail operations. This is an active Detention Facility. Therefore, under no circumstances can power or emergency systems be affected without written approval. An alternate price is also requested for the same scope of work but using existing county-owned wiring/cable. The Contractor is to assume the wiring/cable meets code and is in acceptable condition. The Contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and supervision needed to perform the work. The Contractor is also responsible for securing and posting all necessary permits, passing required inspections, and following all safety and security rules on-site. The work area must be kept clean and restored to its original or better condition. All employees of the awarded Contractor will be required to complete a Criminal History Check Form and pass the associated background check in order to access the jobsite. The form is attached hereto as "Attachment A". Deliverables include as-built electrical drawings, permit and inspection records, and warranty documents.
