Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Conrad, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The extent of the work will involve is as follows: grading, paving, and public utilities (water and sanitary) construction for a two (2) lot commercial subdivision. Water and sewer construction will also include trenchless construction under existing driveways and installation of a lift station. The work under the contract shall actively commence within ten (IO) days upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Once the project is commenced the project shall be completed by December 1st, 2025. This project is subject to liquidated damages as described within the project manual. The Notice to Proceed shall be issued at a preconstruction conference to be held at a future determined date after a fully executed contract. Each proposal must be accompanied with a bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of contract a corporate surety bond, in a form acceptable to the Jurisdiction, for the faithful performance of the contract, in an amount equal to 100% of the amount of the contract. The bidder's security shall be in the amount of 5%, as fixed in the Instruction to Bidders, and shall be in the form ofa cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an FDIC insured bank in Iowa or on an FDIC insured bank chartered under the laws of the United States; or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States; or a bid bond on the form provided in the contract documents with corporate surety satisfactory to the County and filed in an envelope separate from the one containing the proposal, made payable to: Treasurer, City of Conrad. Said check or draft may be cashed or the bid bond declared forfeited by the Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract within ten (l O) days and post bond satisfactory to the Owner insuring the faithful fulfillment of the Contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law and the Specifications. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price at the time of contract execution. Each successful bidder will be required to furnish a corporate surety bond in an amount equal to 100% of its contract price. Said bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City of Conrad and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Conrad from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of Two (2) years from the date of final acceptance of the work under the Contract.
