Assiniboine College is seeking trade contractors to provide fixed bid pricing for all scopes of work for the construction of a new greenhouse facility to be located at Assiniboine Colleges North Hill Campus in Brandon, Manitoba. Bids shall include all labour, material, and equipment as per the Project Drawings and Specifications included in this tender. Please note that all work related to Sections 13 34 13-Greenhouse Structure, 13 55 13-Greenhouse Instrumentation, and 13 93 45-Horticultural Benching have already been awarded in a separate tender and are not open for pricing. Assiniboine College will provide a representative from the Campus Development department to act as construction manager/general contractor for this project to oversee construction. The main items of Work of this Contract include the following: 1. Site Areas disturbed by construction to be restored. Existing drainage pattern to be maintained. New sanitary piping and manholes to be installed. Existing services to be extended to new greenhouse. Electrical and Mechanical utilities are to be installed to building. 2. Headhouse - Concrete foundation, Greenstone structural insulated panels, interior systems, wood truss roof, metal wall and roof cladding, fluid applied floor coatings, millwork, etc. In-floor heating provided by central steam system, cooling system comprises of ERV, HRV, fan coil, and outdoor condenser units, Tekmar controllers, separate sump for chemical handling. trench drains, sanitary and domestic water plumbing systems. New transformer and service to be utilized for new building, all systems to meet NECB. A local addressable two-stage fire alarm system is to be implemented. Data and control wiring to be provided for the headhouse. 3. Greenhouse Foundation / Electrical / Architecture / Plumbing Concrete foundation similar to headhouse. Existing electrical service to be utilized with new transformer. A local addressable two-stage fire alarm system is to be implemented. Heating provided by an in-floor heating system. Piping and ancillaries for irrigation, fertigation, and part of the misting system. 4. Greenhouse Structure Complete with Fan Items as per Section 13 34 13 four (4) compartment greenhouse with a corridor at the center, structure is independent of the adjacent headhouse, insulated panels extending 42" above top of slab, triple wall polycarbonate for remainder of wall height, triple polycarbonate roof panels, double polycarbonate for interior corridor c/w backing/framing for wall mounted services, factory manufactured and site erected structural elements, bolted field connections, roof mounted exhaust chimneys, circulation fans, energy shade curtains, and operable roof and wall vents. 5. Growth Chamber as per Section 13 21 00 Horticultural Environmental Growth Room (HEGR) with a self-contained refrigeration system, LED Fluence modules, plant growth trays, controls, and an additive humidity accessory. 6. Greenhouse Instrumentation as per Section 13 55 13 Salvage existing greenhouse controls system equipment from the existing greenhouse, add additional greenhouse control components, and integrate programming for owner control of the new greenhouse. This control system provides control to temperature, ventilation, humidity, lighting, fertigation, misting system, and other related functions within a horticultural research greenhouse.
