Renovation of a museum in Denison, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
As of September 10, 2025, this project has been awarded. The Texas Historical Commission seeks a generalcontractor firm that has documented experience with projects of the type, scaleand scope described in this RFP. Contractor must have a MINIMUM of 8 yearsexperience in construction similar to the type of work required by theseContract Documents (as judged by THC) to be eligible for contract award. THCrequires all work to comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, codes,and standards. The Eisenhower Birthplace Home is a two-story craftsman house located at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site and was built in 1877.The structure is of wood frame construction and features three prominent roof gables on the front façade. The dining room and kitchen are topped by asingle-story roof at the back of the house. The scope of work includes removing and disposing of the existing wood roof shingles and replacing them with new wood roof shingles. Associated sheet metal flashing will also be replaced with new material. More information regarding the project scope and details is further detailed in the project specifications and construction documents Exhibit M-Construction Documents. Bonds: Proposals exceeding $25,000.00 must be accompanied by a proposal security in the form of an original bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check made out to the Texas Historical Commission for no less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal (including the total of all alternate proposal items). Accordingly, to ensure adequate proposal security, respondents should calculate it based on the highest possible monetary award. Personal checks, company checks, and cash are not acceptable as proposal security. Proposals will be rejected if proposal security is not provided in the specified form and by the deadline for receipt of proposals.
