Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Bel Air, Maryland. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Purpose of this contract is to establish a contract with a qualified contractor to replace and install handicap ramps, curbing and sidewalk at random locations throughout the county and select sites. SCOPE OF WORK :A. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools and other facilities and services, as required to complete the Project in accordance with the requirements of the Contract. B. The Contractor shall perform all work under this Contract in a diligent and workmanlike manner and shall exercise the degree of skill and expertise as is customarily employed by similar contractors performing similar work. SC-2 Revised 4/30/2025 C. Specifications, plans and drawings referenced in this Contract remain the property of the County. Questions Due Date:Jul 2nd 2025, 1:00 PM EDT Online . LIQUIDATED DAMAGES:For each working day that the Contractor is in default in completing the work to be done under this contract, the contractor shall pay to the County liquidated damages which the County will suffer by reason of such default. The County shall be fully authorized and empowered to deduct and retain the amount of any damages, determined as monies due from the contractor under the contract at any time after such damages are incurred. Permitting the contractor to finish work, or any part of it, after the period of time of completion may have been extended, shall in no way waive the rights of the County under the contract. The amount of liquidated damages shall be $1,000.00 per working day. a) Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of 5% Bid Price Total. b) Bid Deposit of all but the three (3) lowest bidders will usually be returned immediately after determination of the order of bids. The Bid Deposits of the second and third bidders will be returned immediately following the execution of a contract by the determined low bidder. c) If no contract has been awarded within ninety (90) days of the bid opening, bid security will be returned upon the demand of the bidder. d) Where the specifications or instructions provide bond requirements, the check of the successful bidder will be returned upon execution of contract and receipt of Performance Payment and Maintenance Bonds, as required under Section 12 below. License:The County may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work and the bidder shall furnish the County all such information and data for this purpose as the County may request. The County reserves the right to reject any bid if the evidence submitted by, or investigation of, such bidder fails to satisfy the County that such bidder is properly qualified to carry out the obligations of the Contract and to complete the work contemplated therein. The County reserves the right to reject or remove at any time during the work any superintendent that is in the County's opinion unacceptable.
