Sealed bids forthe"Shimpstown Roadway Relignment" Attention is called to the fact that not less than the Pennsylvania prevailing wage rates set forth in the contract documents must be paid on this project; that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap; and that to the greatest extent feasible, opportunities for training and employment be given to lower income residents of the project area; and that to the greatest extent feasible, businesses located in the project area or owned in substantial part by project area residents shall be utilized. Notice of intent to award the contract will be provided by the Board of Township Supervisors no later than August 7, 2025. No bid will be considered unless accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check or bid bond payable to Montgomery Township in an amount equal to ten (10%) percent of the bid total. A performance bond in the amount of the 100% of the base bid, as well as a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the base bid, shall be required of the successful bidder. Bids must be submitted in compliance with all contract documents. The successful bidder shall comply with all the provisions of the Contract Documents. The Township, also referred to as the Owner, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. The contract involves the relocation of approximately 1,500 feet of Shimpstown Road beginning approximately 500' feet west ofthe intersection of Punch Bowl Road and Shimpstown Road in Montgomery Township, Franklin County. The project also includes relocation ofthe intersection and approximately 200 feet of Punch Bowl Road. This project is adjacent to and will require close coordination with the work related to the Licking Creek Floodplain Restoration Project If any person contemplating submitting a bid for this contract is in doubt as to the true meaning of the contract documents or any part thereof, he/she may submit to the Engineer a written request for an interpretation thereof. The person submitting the request will be responsible for its delivery. Written requests will not be accepted within seven (7) calendar days of bid opening.
