Contract C25076F This project is part of a continuing program to enhance light rail safety by taking steps to prevent track intrusion into the light rail trackway at 2 locations along Tasman West corridor. For purposes of this Contract, Work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, services, supervision, and incidentals necessary for the planned improvements that include installation of metal picket fencing and gates and chain link and post fence at two locations - a) Between Centennial Boulevard and Calle del Sol and b) between Lick Mill Boulevard and Renaissance Drive. Other improvements include new signs on posts, upgrading existing signs, refreshing pavement striping, markings and markers at 2 intersections - Centennial Blvd/Tasman West and Lick Mill Blvd/Tasman West. The Work will be conducted within an operating rail yard and adjacent to and within existing light rail facilities. This Work will be subject to restrictions to ensure safety and the continuing operations of the yard and shop and the light rail system. The Engineers Estimate for this Work ranges from $651,000.00 to $882,000.00. Questions will not be taken during this meeting or by phone. VTA encourages the use of Business Diversity Programs Business Enterprise (BDPBE) firms in all our contracting opportunities. VTA has an 19% aspirational goal for its BDPBE Bid Security Each Bid must include a true copy of certified check, a cashier's check or a bidder's bond in the sum of not less than the percentage stated in Section 3.10.2, Bid Security Form/Bidder's Bond. A 11.39 % participation goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise ("DBE") has been established for this Contract. Refer to Section 3.8, Business Diversity, and Appendix C, Business Diversity Policy and Requirements, for additional information. The time limit for completion of all Work is 120 (One Hundred and Twenty) calendar days commencing on the First Charged Day. First Charged Day is defined as the 20th day following the issuance of a NOA by VTA. Should the First Charged Day fall on a Friday or weekend or holiday, the following working day shall be the First Charged Day. At the Bid Opening, each electronic Bid must include Bid Form 2 and a true copy of a certified or cashier's check, or a Bidder's Bond in the sum of not less than 5% of the Total Bid Price . NOW THEREFORE, if the aforesaid Principal shall not withdraw said Bid within 120 calendar days after said opening, and shall within the period specified therefore, or if no period be specified, within six (6) working days after the prescribed forms are presented to Principal for signature, enter into a written contract with VTA in the prescribed form in accordance with the Bid as accepted ("Contract"), electronically submit a true copy of the required insurance certificates and file two bonds with VTA; a Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the Total Contract Price to guarantee faithful performance of the Work under the Contract and a Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Total Contract Price to guarantee payment for labor and materials, as required by law, or in the event of the withdrawal of said Bid within the period specified or the failure to enter into such Contract and give such bonds and insurance within the time specified, if the Principal shall pay VTA the difference between the amount specified in said Bid and the amount for which VTA may procure the required work, if the latter amount be in excess of the former, together with all costs incurred by VTA in again calling for bids, should that become necessary, then the above obligation shall be void and of no effect, otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
