Renovation of a fire / police facility in Flora, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The City of Flora is seeking qualified, licensed, and bonded contractors to submit sealed bids for the removal and replacement of the metal roof system at the Flora Fire Department. The work will include demolition of the existing roofing system down to structural purlins, installation of new insulation and metal roofing panels, and replacement of all associated flashing and gutter systems. All work must meet applicable building codes, OSHA safety requirements, and manufacturer specifications. Scope of Work: Demolition and Removal Remove existing metal roof panels down to the structural purlins. Remove and dispose of all existing flashing components, including: Rake flashing Drip edge Pipe boots and flashings Existing gutters (front and rear of building) Contractor must remove and lawfully dispose of all job-related debris. Site must be kept clean and safe throughout the project duration and left broom-swept upon completion. Inspect all exposed purlins upon removal ofthe roof system. Any rusted, damaged, or rotten purlins are to be replaced with new purlins of equal or better material and strength, at the direction of the city representative. Insulation Installation Install minimum 4-inch thick roll-style vinyl-faced fiber glass insulation over the entire roof surface prior to metal panel installation. Note: This is standard for metal building retrofits in Mississippi for both thermal performance and condensation control. Confirm final R-value meets or exceeds local energy code. Insulation must be securely installed per manufacturer specifications, with no sagging or gaps. Metal Roofing System Installation Install new 24-gauge PBR (Purlin Bearing Rib) style metal roof panels, white in color. Panels must have 1-1/4" high ribs spaced at 12" O.C. for structural and commercial performance. Panels to be factory-coated with S&P paint 40yr or equivalent high-performance paint system for UV resistance. Roofing system must include the following accessories: Ridge cap (Die formed style of metal panel) Rake flashing (left and right sides) Drip edge (front and rear) New pipe boots as required Use butyl tape at all panel laps and under ridge caps.Install lifetime fasteners (galvanized or stainless steel with neoprene washers). Eave closures must be installed at all eaves. All roofing installation must follow best industry practices and manufacturer specifications to ensure full eligibility for product warranty. Gutter System Install new commercial-grade box-style gutters along the full front and rear of the building, matching current layout and design. Gutters shall be metal and painted to match roof. Include downspouts and necessary accessories for proper drainage. Contractor Requirements: Contractor must be licensed in the State of Mississippi for commercial roofing or general contracting. Contractor must provide proofofbonding in the minimum amount of $10,000. Must carry current insurance policies including: General Liability Insurance with minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence, and $2,000,000 aggregate Workers' Compensation Insurance as required by state law. Contractor must comply with all OSHA safety regulations. All materials and workmanship shall carry a minimum 20-year manufacturer warranty and a standard contractor workmanship warranty. Contractor is responsible for furnishing all equipment, tools, materials, labor, lifts, scaffolding, and safety gear necessary to complete the project. Additional Notes: Contractor must schedule and coordinate work to minimize disruption to ongoing fire department operations. Schedule shall be submitted with bid. Amandatory site visit may be scheduled prior to bid closing to verify measurements, access, and scope clarity. Final inspection and acceptance will be conducted by a designated City ofFlora representative upon completion.
