CR#: 2131616 The Town of Lake Pleasant invites the submission of sealed bid proposals to furnish labor and materials to replace the roof, remove peeling paint from the siding, along with prime, paint, caulk, and repair any rot or holes in the exterior structure of the Town building housing the Historical Museum located at 2885 NYS Route 8 in Speculator NY CONTRACT 1- Roof replacement of the Town's Historical Museum consists of the following: The Contract's scope of work shall include the careful and uniform removal of the existing roof of the Town of Lake Pleasant's Historical Museum, located at 2885 State Route 8 in Speculator, NY. The existing roof is to be replaced with a steel roof. The materials used shall be 29 gauge Residential ABC metal corrugated roofing, signature series, siliconized polyester, class 1 fire rated, class 4 hail rated that matches the roofing on the rear addition. The roof shall be fastened with #10 1_" exterior hex drive flange head screws in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Drip Edge shall be deep face, color green, to match the drip edge on addition's roof. Specifications for the proposed roof: The existing steel roof will be replaced with a new steel roof and the gable trim will be replaced where necessary with complementary material. The contractor shall also replace or repair any and all underlayment that needs replacing. After the roof layer(s) are removed and the underlayment repaired, the contractor shall install ice and water shield, full coverage, from eave edge to roof peak and drip edge to match addition. Roof specifications are stated above. Flashing shall be applied in all valleys, and around the chimney. Insect blocks shall be installed in any vents. The Contractor shall ensure that all installed roofing materials are square and level to the degree acceptable to standard building practices. CONTRACT 2 - Removal of lead paint and painting of Town Historical Museum. The siding of the new addition shall also be primed and painted. The paint on the original building exterior shall be scraped off as needed, repaired, caulked, primed, and painted. Due to the presence of lead-based paint, all work will be done in accordance with the EPA's Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Program (RRP) guidelines. Exterior will be scraped using a HEPA vacuum. Bare areas will be spot primed using Zinsser Cover Stain - oil base, low VOC. One coat of lead encapsulation paint such as Insl-xLead Block will be applied with a sprayer. Phenoseal will be used to caulk as needed. All details of the EPA Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Program shall be followed to protect the workers, the site, and the surrounding areas. High quality exterior paint will be used - color, white. The roofing/painting contractor(s) shall work with the Town municipal department personnel on disposal of debris generated by demolition of the existing roof and paint. Existing roofing material shall be loaded into Town-supplied dumpsters or trucks for disposal by the Town. Contract Term: sixty days
