Work to Be Done: Work generally consists of approximately 1,500 linear feet of existing roadway removal and replacement to include, but not limited to: - Clearing and Grubbing - Grading, Excavation, Topsoil, Subgrade Preparation and Modified Subbase - Storm Sewer Improvements and Subdrain - Adjustment of Sanitary Sewer Structures and Water Main Valves - Water Services - 5" P.C. Concrete Sidewalk and Detectable Warnings - 6" P.C. Concrete Driveways and Parking - 7" P.C. Concrete Roadway - Pavement Removals - Painted Pavement Markings - Temporary Traffic Control - Concrete Steps - Erosion Control Items See Bid Form for exact quantities Bid security shall be provided in the form of a cashier's check or certified check drawn on a state chartered or federally chartered bank, or a certified share draft drawn on a state chartered or federally chartered credit union, or a bid bond of a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Iowa in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. The bid security shall be included in a separate sealed envelope, plainly marked "bid bond". The bid security shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails proper execution of the contract documents. The successful bidder must execute performance and payment bonds, each in an amount equal to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract amount to ensure a timely, efficient, and complete performance. The bonds shall be issued from a reputable bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Iowa. Liquidated damages will be assessed the contractor in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per working day that the work remains uncompleted after the end of the contract period with due allowances for extensions due to conditions beyond the control of the contractor. Work is allowed in Calendar Year 2025, but if work is commenced in 2025, the project shall be substantially completed by November 21, 2025. All work shall be substantially completed within 70 working days once commenced. If work is commenced in Calendar Year 2026, the project shall have a late start date of April 20, 2026 and be substantially completed within 70 working days once commenced.
