The Street Transportation Department, in collaboration with Salt River Project, is undertaking a project to convert the existing dirt path along the south bank of the Western Canal into an enhanced shared-use pathway. The project limits extend from 4th Avenue to 24th Street. The scope of work includes but is not limited to: Construction of a 10-foot-wide concrete shared-use pathway Installation of pathway lighting Construction of a pedestrian bridge Installation of signalized ADA accessible crossings Integration of public art elements and sculptures Landscaping along the canal corridor.
