The White County Department of Finance, on behalf of the White County Highway Department, is soliciting bids for the purchase of crushed stone for the period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. The objective of this bid is to secure pricing for a one year period on various sizes of crushed stone. This bid will primarily be used by the White County Highway Department, but may be used by other county departments from time to time. 1. Crushed Stone Sizes a) Screenings (TDOT #10) b) 3/8" (TDOT #89) c) 1/2" (TDOT #7) d) 1" (TDOT #57) e) Crusher Run (TDOT # BASE Type A, Grade D) f) 2" (TDOT #4) g) 3" (TDOT #2) h) Crushed Fill Material i) Unclassified Shot j) Rip Rap (TDOT #A3) k) Surge Stone 2. TDOT Compliance All bid items must be compliant with Tennessee Department of Transportation standards. 3. Minimum Orders Any minimum order requirements or additional charges must be provided with the bid. 4. Extension White County reserves the option to extend the bid prices, as proposed, for up to one additional twelve (12) month period if agreeable to both parties. 5. Pick-up All prices submitted should be FOB plant. 6. County-Wide Usage The contract awarded as the result of this bid will primarily be utilized by the White County Highway Department. However, other White County departments shall be entitled to utilize the contracted pricing. Nothing in this document should be misconstrued as guaranteeing a minimum or maximum quantity to be purchased by White County. 7. Multiple Awards White County reserves the right to award this bid to one primary bidder, multiple primary bidders, or a primary bidder and reserve bidder(s). The bid award may be split based upon pricing, availability, and/or accessibility of the crushed stone at White County's sole discretion. Bid Bond For construction related bids, in excess of $100,000 dollars, White County requires a bid bond equal to five percent of the total price of the bid. Contracts for the services of a construction manager shall require a bid bond in the amount of ten percent. White County may request bonds on other services or waive such bond requirements, as determined by the Director of Finance. Performance Bond For construction related bids, in excess of $100,000 dollars, the White County requires a performance bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. White County may request bonds on other services, as determined by the Director of Finance. Payment Bond For construction related bids, in excess of $100,000 dollars, White County requires a payment bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract price except as stipulated under T.C.A. 12-4-201. White County may request bonds for other services as determined by the Director of Finance. The owner (White County) further reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder, and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids.
