Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Corinth, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Kossuth Elementary Auditorium Repair Bid proposals must be submitted, in duplicate, on copies of the "General Construction Bid Form" included in the specifications and must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified Check, or cash in the amount of 5% of the Base Bid (100%). The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Performance and Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder. Bids are requested for a Lump Sum Base Bid with any Alternates and/or Unit Costs requested. In the event that an electronic bid is submitted, a copy of the bid bond must be included with the submission. If submitting electronically, a hard copy of all bid documents must be provided within 3 business days if requested after the bid opening. The Contract will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder, except the Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality whenever rejection of waiver is in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest bidder for any deletions or additions to the contract, as they desire. To mail this bid the contractor should note on an envelope: BID FOR: "Kossuth Elementary Auditorium Repairs" Alcorn School District Attention: Brandon Quinn, Superintendent PO Box 1420 Corinth, MS 38835 A. This is not meant to be an all incompassing description of all work required in the project, but a summary of the major work items to be performed. See drawings for scopes of work not mentioned. B. The Base Bid Project: a. Selective demolition and replacement of beams, floor joist, subflooring and flooring in indicated areas. i. Includes the temporary support of interior partitions and bearing walls in areas where the beams and floor joist are being repaired. ii. Care is to be taken to support the walls as to not break the existing plaster. b. The cleaning of the ground under the building including the removal of debris under the building, primarily found on the south side of the building. Debris includes wood, glass, random c. The installation of a vapor barrier on the ground and up 1'-0" up supporting piers and foundation walls. d. The removal of vinyl flooring in areas where the conventional foundation is not being repaired. Install new flooring. e. Base quarter round to be removed, replaced, primed, and painted in areas where flooring is to be removed or replaced. f. Installation of gutters and downspouts on the north and south side of building roof. Provide 6"x6" gutters and 5"x5". 6 downspouts on each side. Pipe south side downspouts subsurface east of building into drainage areas with two 8" drainage pipes. g. Indoor mechanical units to be temporarily disconnected and moved to replace supporting plenum at each location. Plenum is to be constructed out of wood, but the interior of the plenum return is to be clean of all debris and lined with type X gyp bd. Run new drainlines to exterior of building through the foundation wall or to existing drainline piping. Re-install mechanical units, reconnect duct work, and recharge units. h. Flooring removed in the auditorium, remove flooring carefully not to damage the existing wood. Stockpile existing flooring to be reinstalled after subfloor, beams, and joist are replaced. i. Provide new Louvers in the foundation wall, north and south. Louvers are to be prefinished and include rodent/insect screening and to be Aluminum. Sizes vary in project. j. CONTRACTOR TO INCLUDE IN THEIR BASE BID 1000 lf OF CRACK REPAIR TO THE PLASTER WALLS THAT ARE TO BE SUPPORTED DURING BEAM/JOIST/SUBFLOOR REPLACEMENT. tHE REPAIR WILL INCLUDE CUTTING INTO THE CRACKS, REMOVING LOOSE AREAS, PROPERLY PATCHING CRACK AND PREPPING THE WALLS TO BE REPAINTED
