Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) Dr. Walter Anderson Mechanical & Electrical Upgrades project located at 2251 Pandosy St. in Kelowna, BC, will involve comprehensive consulting, design, and coordination services for the assessment, upgrade, and potential expansion of the facility's HVAC systems. The existing HVAC system is no longer sufficient to meet the increased cooling demands of the laboratory, driven by added automation and elevated ambient temperatures during peak cooling seasons. Manual intervention by maintenance staff, such as spraying coils to prevent overheating is currently required to maintain system performance and prevent failures. The proponent is expected to assess current limitations and provide design options to enhance system capacity, mitigate the risk of overheating, and ensure operational reliability year-round. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals for qualified proponents to undertake mechanical engineering services for the project has closed and a preferred proponent has been chosen. Schedules may be confirmed in early 2026.
