The City of Montpelier is seeking contractors to perform Cold In-place Recycling (CIR) or Stabilized Full Depth Reclamation (SFDR) on a town highway. Towne Hill rd is in poor condition and is roughly 5200ft long. Prospective bidders should note that this project has an additional/alternative scope of work for either full length CIR or half CIR/ half SFDR treatments. Prospective bidders are welcome to visit the site at their convenience. Project limits begin roughly 250ft south of the Main St/Towne Hill Rd intersection and end at the town line. Prior to the opening of bids, it is assumed that each bidder will have inspected the sites and become thoroughly familiar with the contract documents, existing field conditions and limitations. Failure of a bidder to review all documents pertinent to the contract shall in no way relieve the bidder from the obligation with respect to their bid. The City has issued this bid for a qualified contractor to perform Cold In-place Recycling (CIR) treatment to a town highway. Description The work may include, but is not limited to: Towne Hill Road o Pre-milling approx. 10' x 5200' to a depth of 4" (Est. removal of 640 CY). Pre-milling should include one pass on each side of the roadway. o Cold In-place Recycling of 24' x 5200' to a depth of 4" (Est. placement of 557 CY of pavement) o From #219 Towne Hill Road to approximately #169 Towne Hill Road the road will pitch away from the sidewalk towards the open ditch and then transition back to a traditional crowned roadway.
