Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Boone, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The Town of Boone is soliciting requests for qualifications from experienced Design-Build firms interested in providing professional services for Fire Station #4 and the Training Facility, located off Highway 421 South in Boone. A proven record of accomplishment in cost containment, combined with design experience, is essential. The Town has tentatively determined that the following features will be required: 1. Fire station #4 design and construction: o Four (4) Apparatus bays with depth for a 100' aerial. o A workout area /gym. o A dedicated meeting/training room (minimum of 30 people) o Six (6) Bunkrooms o Six (6) office spaces. o A day room and kitchen o Parking for staff and some public parking o Shower and bathrooms for Bunk rooms o Bathrooms for common areas o Equipment decon area o Work area in bays for equipment maintenance 2. Fire training facility design and construction: o The facility will have adequate space to maneuver apparatus around training area and parking. o Metal building at training facility for storage and apparatus bay. approximately 50' X 50' Training facility- 3-story Connex box modular training facility with 2 burn rooms, movable walls, and roof ventilation props. The facility will also need a 4-story training tower with a repelling wall.
