General Description: The work generally consists of approximately 400 feet of Roadside Stabilization (steel sheet piles and backfill) and Road Repairs (backfill, limestone base, soil cement & asphalt road) at Box Car Road, Breaux Bridge, LA, including roadway reconstruction, base construction, asphaltic concrete surfacing and all necessary work to fully complete the project's intent as per plans and specifications. Construction Time: 240 calendar days Liquidated Damages: $500.00 per day and no bonuses for early completion Construction Budget Opinion: $1,800,000.00 Sealed bids will be received in accordance with the Instruction to Bidders, Louisiana Public Bid Law and the Public Bid Form. Bids shall be accepted only from contractors who are licensed by the State of Louisiana for the Classification noted below. Only a bona fide sealed bid will be considered at opening time, bids received after closing time will be returned unopened. Sealed bids may be hand carried or mailed to the address listed above. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond of a sum not less than 5 percent of the Bid Amount plus all additive alternates. Bid Bond must be written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana and payable to the St. Martin Parish Government. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount and who is currently on the U.S. Department of Treasury Financial Management Service List and complies with R.S. 38:2219. Bids shall be accepted only from contractors who are licensed by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for the classification of Building Construction OR Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction and Heavy Construction, and the Bidder certifies that he meets all licensing requirements of the State of Louisiana and is duly and currently licensed under LA. R.S. 37:2150-2164. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of all bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities incidental thereto.
