The project consists of the rehabilitation of an elevated water tank located within the City of New Albany at the corner of Silver Street, E. Main Street, and Loop Island Way and shall include, but is not limited to: 1. Installation of new ladders and platforms to facilitate maintenance and coating activities. 2. Abrasive blasting of the existing surface to Commercial standard. 3. Application of a three-coat Tnemec coating system. 4. Structural reinforcement of tank supports to accommodate containment system loads. 5. Installation of full containment system during blasting and painting to capture debris and overspray. 6. Removal of failed valve pit cover, water removal from the pit, and backfilling with crushed stone to mitigate drowning hazards. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled Water Tower Rehabilitation Project Bid and must include the following: Completed Bid Form - Contractor's Bid for Public Works Form 96 Non-Collusion Affidavit Certificate of Insurance Performance and Payment Bond capacity List of relevant project references Proposed project timeline and completion schedule QUALIFICATIONS Bidders must demonstrate experience with: Elevated water tank painting and rehabilitation Application coating systems Installation and management of containment systems for abrasive blasting The City reserves the right to prequalify contractors, reject any and all bids, and waive any informalities in the bidding process. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with IC 36-1-12-4.
