Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; and playground / park / athletic field.

The Project includes earthwork, construction of an HMA parking area, construction of concrete pads and sidewalks, construction of concrete seatwalls and a monument wall, installation of a storm waters stem, installation of various site amenities, synthetic turf, landscaping, and various lighting and electrical services. Doc note: The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered online, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities, and further reserves the right to accept any bid or parts of bids which it deems to best serve the interest of the Township. No bids may be withdrawn for at least 90 days. The work required under this contract is summarized in the OWNER/CONTRACTOR agreement. The specifics of the work are set forth in these specifications and on the contract drawings. The 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction prepared by the Michigan Department of Transportation shall govern except as amended in the Special Provisions and the following Specification Sections. This Section includes formwork for cast-in-place concrete, complete with furnishing, preparation, installation, coating, protection, adjustment, removal and accessories. The Contractor shall cooperate and coordinate construction activities with the Owners of utilities as stated in subsection 104.08 of the Standard Specifications for Construction. In addition, for the protection of underground utilities, the Contractor shall follow the requirements in subsection 107.12 of the Standard Specifications for Construction. Contractor delay claims, resulting from a utility, will be determined based upon subsection 109.03 of the Standard Specifications for Construction. For protection of underground utilities and in conformance with Public Act 174 of 2013, the Contractor shall dial 1-800-482-7171 or 811 a minimum of three full working days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays prior to beginning each excavation in areas where public utilities have not been previously located. Members will thus be routinely notified. This does not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility of notifying utility Owners who may not be a part of the "Miss Dig" alert system. This work shall be to place decorative pavers on the project site. Decorative pavers for this project shall be furnished and installed by contractor. All engraved pavers to be read walking in direction toward the monument. Pattern to be determined. The work covered in this section consists of all labor, materials, equipment, and supplies, necessary to grade and shape the land on the New Buffalo - Veterans Memorial Park project. This work shall be done in accordance with the requirements of section 205 of the MDOT 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction with the following exceptions: This work consists of furnishing and installing underground perforated storm water piping and related items as noted in the plans as required for the functional needs of the system in accordance with the standard specifications and the manufacturer's specifications and requirements. This work consists of preparing all lawns and slopes on non-freeway projects designated for slope restoration on the plans or as directed by the Engineer and applying topsoil, fertilizer, seed, mulch with mulch anchor, mulch blanket, high velocity mulch blanket, and permanent turf reinforcement mat to those areas. Turf establishment must be in accordance with section 816 of the Standard Specifications for Construction and Standard Plan R-100 Series, except as modified herein or otherwise directed by the Engineer.
