Portage Park District is seeking experienced and qualified consulting firms to design improvements to renovate and upgrade an existing maintenance garage, which was built in 1975. The 96' x 50' metal clad building formerly housed the operations department for the sand and gravel mine which formerly operated on the site. The building has been out of service for over 10 years and is in poor condition. The existing building contains offices, bathrooms, locker/break room, storage and garage space. The building was serviced by electric, had a well and septic field The overall size of the building is adequate for park use. A building assessment for programmed uses will need to be conducted to determine how the interior of the building may be reconfigured to best serve the Park District's needs. In general, the size and location of the garage and office/support areas will remain the same, but modifications will occur as needed to best fit the program. All new finishes, fixtures and support infrastructure are anticipated. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
