Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Iowa City, Iowa. Completed plans call for the addition of a 21,000-square-foot laboratory facility; for the demolition of a laboratory facility; for the renovation of a 17,800-square-foot laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.

Project consists of: Part A: The project consists of a renovated portion of the building, a new addition and HVAC controls upgrades. The newly planned addition was conceived as part of the original design but was never completed with the exception of the structural foundation system. This existing structural foundation will be utilized for the footprint of the new addition. The addition is anticipated to be approximately 21,000 SF, and the renovation is expected to consist of approximately 21,500 SF primarily of the first two floors of the existing west wing (existing E wing). The renovation includes modifications to some of the walls, replacement, lighting upgrades and modifications to the HVAC and sprinkler system for the new configuration. The project also includes replacement of the pneumatic controls system throughout all of the existing building. This scope shall include provisions for limiting vibration and limiting impact on existing equipment and activities. Part B: Utility modifications to existing storm sewer piping and new storm sewer manhole not associated with the new building addition roof drains and bioretention cell. Refer to all "-U" sheets.
