Renovation of a municipal facility in Ocala, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 20,000-square-foot municipal facility.

MARION COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: Judicial Center 1 Re-Roof, Project Address: Marion County Judicial Center - 110 NW 1st Ave, Ocala, FL 34475 For more information call 352-671-8444. Communicating of all solicitation documents, addenda, and applicable information pertaining to the project will be performed through the Marion County Procurement Services Bonfire website (https://marionfl.bonfirehub.com). Submittal documents should be prepared in the file formats listed under "Requested Information" for the solicitation in the Bonfire portal. The maximum upload file size is 1000 MB. Documents should not be embedded within uploaded files, as the embedded files will not be accessible or evaluated. Marion county is seeking a qualified roofing contractor to replace the roof of the judicial center 1 (jc1) building of the courthouse complex. The existing roof has aged out of warranty and requires complete tear off and replacement. The new roof shall be sbs two ply roofing system by siplast with a 25-year manufacturer's warranty. The project area is approximately 20,000 square feet. The contractor must be an approved and authorized installer by the roof manufacturer to bid on this project. Roofing Membrane Assembly: A roof membrane assembly consisting of two plies of a prefabricated, reinforced, homogeneous Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene (SBS) block copolymer modified asphalt membrane, applied over a prepared substrate. Reinforcement mats shall be impregnated/saturated and coated each side with SBS modified bitumen blend and coated one side with a torch grade SBS bitumen blend adhesive layer. The adhesive layer shall be manufactured using a process that embosses the surface with a grooved pattern to provide optimum burnoff of the plastic film and to maximize application rates. The cross sectional area of the sheet material shall contain no oxidized or non-SBS modified bitumen. The roof system shall pass 500 cycles of ASTM D 5849 Resistance to Cyclic Joint Displacement (fatigue) at 14-(F (-10(C). Passing results shall show no signs of membrane cracking or interply delamination after 500 cycles. The roof system shall pass 200 cycles of ASTM D 5849 after heat conditioning performed in accordance with ASTM D 5147. The assembly shall possess waterproofing capability, such that a phased roof application, with only the modified bitumen base ply in place, can be achieved for prolonged periods of time without detriment to the watertight integrity of the entire roof system. Catalyzed Acrylic Resin Flashing System: A specialty flashing system consisting of a liquidapplied, fully reinforced, multi-component acrylic membrane installed over a prepared or primed substrate. The flashing system consists of a catalyzed acrylic resin primer, basecoat and topcoat, combined with a non-woven polyester fleece. The resin and catalyst are premixed immediately prior to installation. The use of the specialty flashing system shall be specifically approved in advance by the membrane manufacturer for each application. Background Marion County is seeking a qualified roofing contractor to replace the roof of the Judicial Center 1 (JC1) building of the courthouse complex. The existing roof has aged out of warranty and requires complete tear off and replacement. The new roof shall be SBS two ply roofing system by Siplast with a 25-year manufacturer's warranty. The project area is approximately 20,000 square feet. Project Summation o Remove existing roofing system and insulation exposing the concrete roof deck. o Prepare the roof deck and install new insulation and roof system per Siplast's specifications (attached). o Contractor must be an approved and authorized installer by the roof manufacturer to bid on this project. o Contractor shall maintain a watertight building envelope at all times. o Contractorshall be prepared for and capable of removing all materialsfrom the site and relocating them to a secure area in the event of a major weather event as determined by the Marion County EOC. o Contractor is responsible for removal and reinstallation of the safety rail system as required for roof replacement. o The contractor is responsible to verify the quantities of materials needed. o The site must remain free of excess debris at all times. o All materials, machinery, and vehiclesshall be stored in an orderly and organized fashion and must have prior coordination with the Marion County Project Manager. o Contractor must adhere to the approved manufacturer Roofing System standards for design and installation. o All work shall be during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. It is also possible to work after hours and weekends with the prior authorization of Marion County. o Contractor is responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all detritus(waste matter), which is generated from this project to an offsite facility at the contractor's expense. o Contactor must have a current and active Certified Roofing Contractor License (CCC-License) through the State of Florida that can be verified through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), and must be properly registered with the City of Ocala in order to pull a permit with the City of Ocala. o All Roofing installation and operations must be performed under the observation of a manufacturer Representative. o Contractor is to maintain the existing R-Value of the roof system. o A pre-bid on-site meeting is recommended but not mandatory. Time to Completion o Substantial Completion - 60 Days from Notice to Proceed o Final Completion - 10 Days beyond Substantial Completion Date Intent to Bid Due Date: Jul 30th 2025, 2:30 PM EDT
