The City of Manassas is soliciting bids for the replacement of the existing service yard sliding vehicle gate with a high-speed, four-fold gate at the Public Safety Building, 9608 Grant Avenue, Manassas, Virginia 20110. JPA Project No. 8126-25 The Public Safety Facility is comprised of three components: main building, auxiliary wing, and structured parking. The main building is a 4-story steel structure with a masonry cavity-wall exterior skin that is representative of the "historic heart" of downtown Manassas. The glass curtain wall entry represents the "modern beat" of the City. The main building connects to the 2-story plus basement (3 level) auxiliary wing through a pedestrian bridge. The auxiliary wing connects directly to the structured parking on both the basement and first floor levels. Project Scope: The project will replace the existing sliding, vehicle gate with a replacement high-speed, four-fold gate. Work includes the following: Demolition: 1. Disconnecting existing: electrictal power, gate control wiring, communication wiring, and vehicle detection devices. 2. Disassembly of the existing sliding gate including gate mounting hardware, operator motor, and adjacent fencing as required. 3. Turn over any salvaged items requested by the Owner. 4. Demolish existing curb & gutter and paving as required. 5. Remove and dispose of demolished materials and salvaged items not requested by the Owner. New work: 1. Install new gate foundations. 2. Install new high speed bifold gate. 3. Install new vehicle bollards. 4. Repair paving, curb and gutter to match the existing conditions. 5. Reconnect Electrical power. 6. Reconnect access control and communications wiring. 7. Reconnect vehicle detectors. 8. Repair site landscape (turf).
