Renovation of a laboratory facility in Sequim, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
Sequim Stairs Repair Summary: Repair sections of stairs connecting uplands with the short at Sequim (Marine Sciences Lab). The Contractor shall: 1. Review technical design drawings for "BS Sidewalks Stairs Repair" (attached) to confirm understanding of work requirements. 2. Complete applicable repairs to each of the 12 sections of stairwell as indicate in the design, to include the following: a. Correct leaning/depressions/leveling issues with concrete stair sections by use of expanding polyurethane foam as designated for specific staircase sections. b. Replace existing wood-sections to include nosings, stringers and trim as designated. c. Extend the height of all handrails to 36" by cutting the posts and weld in extension segments ranging from 2-4" as needed. d. Paint all handrails to match the color of the neighboring light fixtures as specified in the design. e. Replace rusted/damaged sections of the handrail. f. Cut and cap protruding pipes (legacy irrigation system) adjacent to the staircase. 3. Provide appropriate fire protection materials/equipment while performing welding work. 4. Notify onsite staff immediately in the event tribal/cultural artefacts are discovered during work. 5. Remove all waste materials from jobsite and repair any cosmetic damage to the immediate area caused during the repair of the staircase.
