Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Coral Gables, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

SCOPE OF WORK: The Work includes the removal, abandonment and replacement of the existing marina fire protection system at Matheson Hammock Park. This includes, but is not limited to, the installation of new underground fire service piping, fire hydrants, and fire hose cabinets across designated pier and parking areas, as indicated in the construction documents. The Contractor shall perform all trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and surface restoration activities required to install the new system per applicable codes and standards. Work shall be coordinated to minimize disruptions to park and marina operations, and all work areas shall be restored to existing or better conditions upon completion SBE- Service: 2.5% License Requirements - At the time of Bid and pursuant to the requirements of Section 10-3 of the Code of Miami-Dade County, Florida and Request for Price Quotation (RPQ) and Contract Documents, the Bidder and all its subcontractor must hold a valid, current, and active State and/or Miami-Dade County contractor's license consistent with the requirements of the Scope of Work If you have any vendor registration questions please contact Vendor Assistance at (305) 375- 5773 The types of contracts available under the MCC Program are construction projects, facility repairs, neighborhood improvements, emergency repairs and maintenance work with a maximum value of $5.0M; ORD 09-101. All capital departments are participating. Additional opportunities are available through Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) which enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings by families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Measures to make homes more energy efficient include: replacement or installation of key components, installation of energy recovery ventilation systems including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and installation of whole mechanical exhaust systems to provide better indoor air quality, install attic insulation, install window solar films, repair or replace inefficient cooling units, repair or replace water heaters and address air infiltration with weather stripping, caulking thresholds, minor wall repairs, ceiling and floors, windows and doors (Contractor must obtain and submit all permits prior to performing any work.) CONTRACTOR shall review all documents, specifications, plans and scope of work provided by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department for work to be completed. Furnish all labor, equipment, and materials required to comply with the intent of the WORK described in the contract documents including the removal, abandonment and replacement of the existing marina fire protection system at Matheson Hammock Park. This includes, but is not limited to, the installation of new underground fire service piping, fire hydrants, and fire hose cabinets across designated pier and parking areas, as indicated in the construction documents. The Contractor shall perform all trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and surface restoration activities required to install the new system per applicable codes and standards. Work shall be coordinated to minimize disruptions to park and marina operations, and all work areas shall be re-stored to existing or better conditions upon completion. RFIs submitted after the specified deadline may not be attended to B. Major Renovations and Remodels: All major renovations and remodels shall attain Certified or higherlevel rating under the LEED-NC Rating System. C. Non-Major Renovations and Remodels: All non-major renovations and remodels shall attain "Certified" or higher-level rating under the appropriate LEED Rating System such as LEEDNC, LEED-Existing Building (EB) or LEED-Commercial Interior (CI). D. Renovations, remodels, and other building upgrades not meeting the above criteria are encouraged to incorporate the maximum number of LEED approved green building practices as are feasible from a practical and fiscal perspective; however, LEED certification will not be required.
