The Rehoboth Flumes Project is located in Clayton and Pike Townships, Perry County, Ohio. The Contact Melissa Price at 614-265-6369 with any questions regarding bidding. project is divided into two sites; one to the north where two channels meet to form the Rehoboth Tributary and one to the south near the mouth of the Rehoboth Tributary into Rush Creek. Directions to the north site are as follows: From New Lexington travel north on OH-345 for about 1.3 miles, then turn right onto County Road 112/Monsanto Road. The project site is adjacent to the south side of County Road 112, about 500 ft from the intersection with OH-345. The north site's latitude and longitude are 39.736959 -82.191521. Directions to the south site are as follows: from New Lexington travel east on Tunnel Hill Rd, then turn left onto Township Road 364/Hunter Drive. After about 1,400 feet turn right onto the driveway of the privately owned farm at 2265 Township Road 364. Continue on this unpaved access road for about 1,300 ft until the fence/cattle gate. Once through the gate turn left and travel north along the fence for about 500 ft, then turn right and travel through the field east-southeast for about 1,300 feet to reach the Rehoboth Tributary. The south site's latitude and longitude are 39.724782, -82.186862. The Rush Creek watershed contains acres of previously mined, unreclaimed land. As a result of the exposed mine spoils present in the area, the surface waters are heavily impacted by acid mine drainage (AMD). This project will include work in streams impacted by AMD, with the objective of installing flow monitoring devices at three locations. At the north site, there are two small tributaries that meet and form the main Rehoboth Tributary. In these streams, which will be referred to as the Perry State Forest Tributary and the Reservoir Outlet Tributary, 18" fiberglass Parshall Flumes and stream level gauges will be installed. At the southern site, a stream level gauge will be installed into the Rehoboth Tributary channel. Construction: The scope of work involves clearing, dewatering, excavation, stone placement, vinyl sheetpiling installation, flume installation, concrete, stream level gauge installation and revegetation. The project officer for this project is Sarah Maj in the Zaleski Office (614) 867-3655, and the project engineer is Brian Jacoby, P.E. in the Columbus Office (614) 965-0451. The Director of Natural Resources reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or toaccept the bid which embraces such combination alternate proposals as may promotethe best interest of the State.
