Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Elmira, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The Contractor is hereby notified that the Department may elect to deploy an automated speed enforcement unit at certain times during the project. Project locations that qualify for the deployment of automated speed unit must meet the following criteria: Limited Access Highways only No mobile work zones Workers must be present The automated unit may consist of a trailer mounted unit, a free-standing unit, or one contained within a work vehicle. The unit will be deployed and operated by a private vendor under the direction of the Department and the Engineer. The Speed Photo Enforcement Warning Sign" will be provided by the AWZSE vendor. If necessary, the contractor shall provide a temporary regulatory speed limit sign within half mile ahead of the start of the work zone. The cost of this extra sign shall be included as part of the Basic Work Zone Traffic Control item. The contractor shall coordinate with the Engineer and the speed enforcement vendor to find a safe location for the unit within the work zone that does not interfere with on-going work. The vendor will set up and take down/remove their unit and sign(s) each day they are deployed.
