Bids for a Roof Replacement Project for Wayne High School Athletic Buildings. Remove the existing shingle roof system down to the existing wood deck and dispose of debris in a legal manner. Replace all damaged or deteriorated deck after the owner verifies existing condition. Payment for deck replacement, if needed, will be assembled using the square foot cost on the quote form submitted by the contractor. The new deck will be of the same type and thickness as the existing wood deck. o All tear off must be handled and disposed of in accordance with the laws of the state of West Virginia. Existing shingles were tested for asbestos and no asbestos was detected. o The repaired roof deck will be completely covered with new Ice and Water Shield equal to Tri-Built High Temp Metal Underlayment (2 sq roll). Products by others must be High Temp, 50 mills thick, and meet ASTM D1970. Top surface must be smooth with no sand or granules. o All damaged fascia and soffit wood will be replaced with new wood the same type and thickness as the existing wood. This wood replacement cost will be in the contractors base bid price. The repaired soffit and face boards will be prepared and repainted bright white with exterior latex paint. Any damaged existing gutter, downspouts, metal soffit, or gutter accessories will be replaced with new pieces. o New flashings, hips, ridges, valleys, snow guards, and other necessary flashings will be installed. All flashings must be installed according to the manufacturers' recommended details. See common details in this scope of work. o The contractor is responsible for properly flashing any roof top units or equipment and is responsible for incorporating any existing gas pipe, curbs, electrical conduits, and lightning protection into the new metal roof system in a watertight manner. o The contractor is responsible for keeping the project site clean and free of debris. o The roofing contractor shall be responsible for all means and methods as they relate to safety and shall comply with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements that are safety related. Safety shall be the responsibility of the roofing contractor. All related personnel shall be instructed daily to be mindful of the full-time requirement to maintain a safe environment for the facility's occupants including staff, visitors, students, and the occurrence of the public on or near the site. o All new metal and metal roof panels will be fabricated with new 29 Ga Steel with a standard silicone - modified polyester paint finish as manufactured by Sherwin Williams, AkzoNobel, or equal.
