RFP#369466 - Asbestos Abatement Services The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform asbestos remediation services as specified. 1. This work is to be performed to ensure the safe removal, handling, and disposal of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Work may include, but is not limited to: a. Removal of asbestos-containing thermal system insulation. b. Removal of asbestos-containing flooring systems and associated mastic/glue via chemical or mechanical removal techniques. c. Removal of asbestos-containing surfacing materials such as spray-applied insulation and plaster wall/ceiling systems. d. Removal of asbestos-containing wallboard systems and other miscellaneous asbestos containing materials. e. Removal of asbestos-containing gasket material from pipe flanges. f. Removal of asbestos-containing materials from boilers, hot water heaters, furnaces, and other equipment. g. Removal of Transite utility lines in excavations. h. Removal of asbestos-containing paints. i. Removal of vermiculite insulation and asbestos-containing cloth. 2. Prepare work area as required including proper containment, signage, etc. 3. Provide the safe removal of ACMs from areas indicated by FFDG. 4. Package, label, and dispose of ACMs per applicable regulations and guidelines. 5. Decontaminate work areas, personnel, and equipment following abatement activities. 6. FFDG will provide a construction coordinator with subject matter expertise in asbestos abatement that will work closely with the Subcontractor and trades people. 7. Post-abatement/final clean of containment (if applicable), FFDG construction coordinator will verify satisfactory completion of abatement prior to tear-down/demobilization. 8. Where post-abatement clearance air monitoring is required, air samples will be collected by the FFDG construction coordinator or a third-party environmental consultant and sent to a thirdparty, accredited laboratory for analysis. 9. The Subcontractor shall provide transportation including portal to portal travel time, inclusive of all shipping, handling, and freight costs for equipment, materials, tools, parts, and supplies.
