The Project includes the following Work: Repair of existing guardrail located in the City of Chamblee, Georgia at the intersection of Clairmont Road at New Peachtree Road and the east segment of Dresden Drive from 2829 Dresden Drive to 2880 Dresden Drive. The project scope includes removal of existing guardrail and installation of new guardrail, erosion/sediment control measures, labor and materials necessary to install the authorized work. No proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the Bidder holds Georgia State Contractor's License, or qualifications with the Georgia Department of Transportation for similar work, in compliance with Act. O.C.G.A. 43-41. Failure to provide the bidder's License or Qualifications Number on the outside of the sealed proposal will result in rejection of the bid. All required federal, state, and local permits as well as required easements or rights of way for the project will be obtained prior to Construction. A satisfactory Bid Bond (in the amount of 5% of the Bid), executed by the Bidder, and an acceptable surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, will accompany each BID. In lieu of a Bid Bond, the City will accept a cashier's check, certified check, or cash deposit in an amount equal to at least 5% of the total contract amount. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the Engineer as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the Issuing Office in either electronic or paper format. The Issuing Office will periodically distribute official notifications, addenda, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website. A PDF version of the Project Bidding Documents and Specifications will be made available for download upon request and payment to the City of Chamblee, Georgia. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. For all further requirements regarding Bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informality in the bidding, to evaluate Bids, and to accept any Bid, which in his opinion, may be for his best interest.
