This Project Consists Primarily of the Installation of Irrigation on Three Baseball Fields and the Installation of Sod on Two Baseball Fields at Mel Roberts Park Located at 901 North Cedar Street. Furnishing All Labor and Materials and Performing All Work for: Installation of Irrigation & Sod at Mel Roberts Park (901 North Cedar Street) This Project Consists Primarily of the Installation of Irrigation on Three Baseball Fields and the Installation of Sod on Two Baseball Fields at Mel Roberts Park Located at 901 North Cedar Street. To Be Eligible for Consideration, Bids Must Be Submitted on Complete Original Proposal Forms Found in the Bid Package. The Specifications and All Executed Bid Forms Must Be Submitted in a Sealed Envelope, Clearly Marked, Identifying the Bid and the Date of the Bid Opening. The Bidder's Alabama State Contractor's License Number Shall Be on the Outside of the Envelope. If Hand Delivering, the Bid Envelopes Must Be "Date and Time" Stamped at the Receptionist's Desk When the Bid Packages Are Turned in. It Shall Be the Sole Responsibility of the Bidder to Assure Receipt of the Bid at the Foley City Hall Prior to the Published Time for the Bid Opening. The City of Foley Reserves the Right to Accept or Reject Any or All Bids and to Waive Technical Errors if, in the City's Judgment, the Best Interests of the City Will Thereby Be Promoted. Irrigation 1. Install irrigation on all 3 baseball fields according to attached drawing. 2. Connect irrigation main to existing well. 3. City will provide all irrigation supplies. 4. All valve boxes must be located outside the fields. 5. No valve boxes shall be placed at gate entrances. Sod 1. Provide 419 Bermuda (large) sod rolls for 2 baseball fields, approximately 157,000 square feet. It is the contractor's responsibility to verify quantity needed and bid appropriately. 2. Install sod on baseball fields 1 & 3. 3. Contractor shall use equipment adequate in size, capacity and numbers to accomplish the work in a timely manner. 4. Fields will have received final grade and will be ready for placement of irrigation and sod. Contractor shall avoid damage to the final grade of the fields during sod installation. 5. The contractor shall repair any damage to the irrigation system at the contractor's expense. 6. Sod shall be laid with tight joints and no overlapping. 7. Tamp and roll lightly to ensure firm contact with final grade, to eliminate air pockets and to provide a smooth surface. 8. All plastic sheeting and/or netting used in the harvesting and transporting of the sod shall be removed and disposed of properly. 9. Sod should be harvested, transported and installed within a 24 hour period. 10. Contractor shall coordinate with City staff to ensure sod is installed according to the irrigation zones. This will allow for proper watering of the new sod without affecting other areas. 11.
