Site work and paving for a civil project in Memphis, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; bridge / tunnel; and bridge / tunnel.
Shelby County Project No. 79I240-S8-005 (PIN 132468.00), 79I240-M3-010 (PIN 132468.00) The resurfacing on I-240 from near Elvis Presley Boulevard (L.M. 6.00) to near South Perkins Road (L.M. 12.72), including repair work on bridge. Project Length - 0.000 miles Completion Time - On or before 10/31/2026 (See Special Provision 108B) Each bid must be accompanied by an electronic bid bond or a Cashier's or Certified Check made payable to the Department of Transportation, or Irrevocable Letter of Credit naming the Department as beneficiary (for Mowing and Litter projects only), in an amount equaling not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. All questions related to the Proposal Contract, Plans, Specifications or Special Provisions shall be directed to the Headquarters Construction Office (615-741-2414). Information received from other offices of the Tennessee Department of Transportation is strictly advisory. A Prime Contractor must prequalify with The Department of Transportation in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated 54-5-117 and Tennessee Department of Transportation Rule 1680-5-3, Prequalification of Contractors, before bid authorization for highway contracts will be furnished. Prime contractors, except mowing and litter removal contractors, are required to be licensed with the State of Tennessee, Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI), Board for Licensing Contractors (BLC). Prime contractors must be licensed in the general classification (e.g. Heavy Construction (HC), Highway, Railroad, Airport Construction (HRA), Specialty (S), Municipal and Utility Construction (MU), or Electrical Contracting (CE)) for the type of work in the project which they will perform. Bidders may submit a Proposal without having a license and will be considered for award for twenty-one (21) days after Proposals are opened. If the Bidder does not have a license with the TDCI, on or before twentyone (21) days after Proposals are opened, the Bidder will be considered non-responsive and their Proposal will be rejected. The Department encourages the use of disadvantaged business enterprises on all contracts TNDOT - 018 - Resurfacing on I-240 This work shall consist of the use of an Electronic Ticket Delivery System (e-ticket) for certified weights of asphalt mixtures delivered to the project site. The e-ticket system shall be compatible with the Department's electronic ticketing portal (HaulHub). If an Electronic Ticket Delivery System is not available, the Department will allow the use of HaulHub through the Department's license. This work shall consist of the furnishing, installation, and operation of a work zone Digital Speed Limit Sign Assembly on interstates and freeways with speed limits greater than 55 MPH or facilities that have significant traffic volumes and impacts. The signs are regulatory speed limit signs with LED displays for the speed limit numbers. The purpose of Digital Speed Limit Sign Assembly is to easily change work zone speed limits between activities that necessitate the need for a lower speed limit and the ones that do not. This work consists of providing Traffic Queue Protection when Work activities are performed on control-access or limited access facilities. Pursue efforts for the protection of traffic queues caused by project Work and clearly demonstrate adequate good faith efforts. The queue protection trucks are expected to alert motorists (inside or outside of project limits) of all stopped traffic caused by Work activities or incidents within the project limits. This work shall consist of the furnishing, installing and operation of a work zone Speed Feedback Sign Assembly. Equipped with Doppler radar and a LED display, these devices inform motorists of their current speed and/or advisory messages as well as generate data to be used in traffic management strategies. The purpose of the Speed Feedback Sign Assembly is to provide speed awareness to the motoring public in areas where speed reduction is desired and provide real time information to the Engineer regarding speed and traffic volumes. The term "Project" as used herein includes any and all work related to the [Interstate 240, From near Elvis Presley Boulevard to near S. Perkins Road.] Overpass (the "Structure"), more particularly described on Exhibit A, which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, including, but not limited to, any and all changes to telephone, telegraph, signal and electrical lines and appurtenances, temporary and permanent track work, fencing, grading, alterations to or new construction of drainage facilities, preliminary and construction engineering and contract preparation.
