The city is leading a study of Fernbrook Lane between County Road 81 and 93rd Avenue. Hennepin County recently transferred authority of this segment of roadway to the City of Maple Grove. It is a key north-south connection and provides access to schools, businesses, residences, and area parks and trails. A four-way stop will be installed at the Fernbrook Lane & 99th Avenue North intersection, followed by a full reconstruction in the summer of 2026. Improvements will start on the remainder of the corridor as funding allows. This project will rehabilitate the roadway surfaces of Fernbrook Lane from County Road 30 to County Road 31 including implementing key elements of the Fernbrook Lane Transportation Study currently underway. Improvements could include narrower traffic lanes, intersection improvements, pedestrian crossing enhancements, etc. The project is included in the City's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 18, 2025, project construction is expected in Summer 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
