Residential Roof Replacement The owners reserve the right to reject any and/or all bids, and to waive any formality or technicality in any bid. Existing roofing material to be removed and replaced with new material. New chimney caps to be installed. Existing gutters to remain. 1. Strip entire roof down to decking and inspect for rot, damage or deterioration. Renail or replace substrate as necessary. Replacement of one piece of plywood (4' x 8') or equivalent must be included in bid for minor incidental deterioration repair. All materials shall be legally disposed of. 2. Existing gutters to remain and be protected. Contractor shall add additional fastening if necessary to secure existing components. 2. Install ice shield on eaves, rakes, valleys and roof/wall intersections, new drip edge, synthetic underlayment, new boots for vent pipes, new ridge vent. 3. All flashings shall be provided and installed and typical to original, existing components. 4. Provide and install 30 yr. Architectural, self-sealing shingles by GAF or equal to all roofing surfaces. Color to be approved by owner prior to installation. 5. Chimney- New Stainless Steel Chimney Caps to be supplied and installed, one to each flue pipe. SPECIAL NOTES: 1. Contractor shall trim back tree limbs and branches to create a minimum four-foot building envelope around house. 2. Contractor responsible for thorough cleanup of roofing debris around home. 3. If roll-off dumpster is used, contractor shall take steps to ensure no damage to property occurs.
