Reference Number 0000297570 The Work of this Contract, designated Contract G60-384-Bus Stop Improvements -Group 35, consists of: The supply of labour, equipment, and materials to construct and/or modify 82 designated TTC bus stops to provide Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and to accommodate articulated buses, in 4 Districts consisting of Etobicoke-York, North York, Scarborough, and Toronto-East York, in accordance with the Contract Drawings. The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Removing and safely storing stop markers from the Work areas in a manner that will not cause a tripping hazard. Excavating and properly disposing of excess turf, asphalt, unit pavers, and concrete surfaces to the limits needed to construct the bus stop pad improvements. Where asphalt pavement is to be removed, the limit of the removal shall be sawcut in a straight line and at right angles to the surrounding pavement. Where concrete pavement is to be removed, the limit of removal shall be to an existing joint line. Full depth sawcutting shall be provided as required to provide a clean, straight edge to the concrete that will remain in place. Where unit pavers are removed, remove the underlying sand, granular material, or concrete foundation slab. Any excavations requiring to go beyond 500 mm will require a new road cut Permit. Adjusting the elevation of existing utilities to match the surface grade of pad improvements. Compacting the subgrade areas for pad improvements. Providing and compacting granular sub-base material for pad improvements. Forming, placing, finishing, and curing concrete for pad improvements. Replacing existing concrete curb with a drop curb (concrete) at new curb ramp locations where identified on the Contract Drawings. Replacing cracked curbs with new curbs at locations identified on the Contract Drawings or as identified during construction in coordination with the TTC. Patching any sawcuts and gaps between new curbs and existing asphalt. Furnishing and installing tactile walking surface indicator at locations identified on the Contract Drawings. Removing and re-installing existing traffic signs at locations impaced by the pad improvements. Regrading the perimeter of pad improvements, as required, to provide a gentle transition to existing ground elevation at a maximum rise to run ratio of 1:4. Sodding any areas that require regrading or restoration. For areas that cannot be sodded due to seasonal constraints, provide temporary restoration of any excavated areas adjacent to the constructed pad improvement with 19 mm Type I clear stone meeting the requirements of OPSS.MUNI 1004. With the resumption of favourable seasonal conditions, remove the temporary clear stone and place sodding. Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey Report Refer to the Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey Report appended to the Contract Documents as Appendix 1 and as indicated in Sections 01 57 19 and 01 59 00, and prepare the Site for safe construction operations prior to engaging in other Work, as required by governing legislation. Safely remove and dispose of designated substances and hazardous materials as required, in accordance with governing legislation, and the requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. Should concealed or unknown conditions be found to vary from those identified in the Designated Substances and Hazardous Materials Survey Report, notify TTC immediately.
