The City invites Tenders for the Arbutus Greenway and W 41st Avenue Intersection Improvement Project, a transportation safety improvement initiative. The objectives of the proposed improvements include: Enhancing safety and pedestrian and cyclist connectivity along the Arbutus Greenway and at the East Boulevard & W 41st Avenue intersection by providing direct and separated crossing paths and by providing separated signal phasing. Improving traffic operations at the East Boulevard & W 41st Avenue and West Boulevard and W 41st Avenue intersections. Implementing transit priority measures on W 41st Avenue to minimize delays and upgrading existing bus stops. Installing new green rainwater infrastructure to enhance stormwater management. Strengthening neighborhood identity and character through thoughtful landscaping and public realm improvements. The Work generally includes, but is not limited to: traffic signal upgrades at the W 41st Avenue & East Boulevard intersection and the W 41st Avenue & West Boulevard intersection, along with new and upgraded streetlighting. The project also involves roadway regrading and pavement rehabilitation, installation of new concrete bus pads, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters. Additional improvements include Arbutus Greenway roadworks and paving, landscaping, site furnishings, drainage upgrades, and the installation of new green rainwater infrastructure.
