Reference Number 0000392031 ; Event ID - ONGOV-BID0011249 Furnish Griffin Visitor Center Maintenance Compound Stone Wall: Demo, Repointing - Project Overview To provide labor and materials for the refurbishment of the stone, mortar and concrete privacy wall on the north-east side of the Griffin Visitor Center (GVC) maintenance compound; as specified. The wall is beginning to crumble and fail. Contractor is to remove the existing cinder-block wall, repoint stone columns and knee wall, and install new precast concrete caps. - Project Location Onondaga County Parks Department Griffin Visitor Center (GVC) 4 E Shore Trail Liverpool, NY 13088 - Scope of Work o Approximately 670 sq ft of existing cinder block wall, and 172 sq ft of concrete caps, both of which sits on top of a stone knee wall, are to be removed and hauled away by the contractor in a controlled manner. The cinder block wall is 7'8" tall. o The existing wood fence on top of the knee wall is also to be removed and hauled away. o Once the block walls and concrete caps are removed, the interior knee wall stones are to be cleaned, numbered, and relayed. Approximately 140 sq ft. o Quantity of four (4) exterior knee walls and a quantity of six (6) columns will be repointed where needed at a depth equal to 1.5x the width (width ranges from 1" to 2.5" thereby needing a depth of 1.5" to 3.75"). Approximately 2,694 linear feet of grout repointing. o New precast coping stone concrete caps will be pre-cast off-site, and at a width whereby a sufficient drip-edge shall properly wick water away from the wall below. The width of the caps are to be approximately, eighteen (18) inches wide. Control and expansion joints shall be caulked properly. Approximately, one hundred seven (107) linear feet of precast wall caps will be needed. o Also to include a smaller concrete column abutting GVC building. This column is to be repointed and the existing concrete cap is to be reinstalled. The County has the existing cap onsite.
