Leduc County is seeking unit rate submissions from companies to perform major asphalt repairs as part of our annual asphalt road maintenance program throughout the 396km of paved roads network that Leduc County maintains. The annual major asphalt program budget is approximately $425,000 per year. The asphalt maintenance program typically begins in late May and wraps up in September of each year. The work included for 2025 includes mill and fill, full depth repairs, and, where required, supply and install geotextile per County engineer. In all work or repairs carried out under this project, the contractor will provide: _ All supplies, equipment, labour and any other requirements to complete the work. _ Traffic control, including signage, road closure permits, and any other applicable requirements for public safety are the responsibility of the contractor. _ Locates of underground utilities are required prior to any ground disturbing activities. Coordination is the contractor's responsibility. _ Corresponding asphalt mix type and thickness to the appropriate Road Classification structure (rural local, industrial local, etc.) as listed per location and described in ANNEX C Municipal Standards for road structure. Mill & Fill Work _ Cold-milling 50mm depth of existing asphalt including disposal of millings _ Clean and tack milled surface with SS-1 oil _ Install 50mm lift of asphalt corresponding mix type to appropriate road _ classification (rural local, industrial local, etc.) _ In circumstances where milling 50mm results in Granular Base Course (GBC) exposure, proper base compaction in place will be required prior to paving. Full-Depth Repair - Small Area (< 20 m2) _ Sawcut existing pavement. Remove and dispose of asphalt and base material to expose subgrade. _ Scarify and re-compact 150mm of subgrade. Undercut subgrade if necessary to accommodate full pavement structure. _ Install GBC in 2 lifts to a thickness as per appropriate road classification and compact to 100% Standard Proctor Density (SPD). Compaction testing required by owner supplied 3rd party tester. GBC thickness to be as per appropriate road classification. _ Apply tack oil to GBC surface and allow to dry prior to paving. _ Minimum 400mm wide milled tie-ins required. _ Install the corresponding mix type and thickness of Asphalt Concrete Pavement (ACP) per the appropriate road classification (rural local, industrial local, etc.). Full-Depth Repair - Large Area (_ 20 m2) _ Sawcut existing pavement. Remove and dispose of asphalt and base material to expose subgrade. _ Scarify and re-compact 150mm of subgrade. Undercut subgrade if necessary to accommodate full pavement structure. _ Proof roll test subgrade with owner supplied 3rd party Geotechnical Engineer. Placement of geotextile upon Engineering recommendation. _ Install GBC in 2 lifts and compact to 100% SPD. Compaction testing required by owner supplied 3rd party tester. _ Apply tack oil to GBC surface and allow to dry prior to paving. _ Minimum 400mm wide milled tie-ins required. Install the corresponding mix type and thickness of Asphalt Concrete Pavement (ACP) per the appropriate road classification (rural local, industrial local, etc.).
