The City of Rochester, through its Bureau of Architecture and Engineering is soliciting proposals from firms with experience inspecting and evaluating structural systems beneath buildings and terraces which are exposed to the elements to develop a comprehensive inspection and maintenance plan to ensure the safety, structural integrity and service life of the support framing of the Rundel Memorial Library, surrounding terraces and raceway. The Rundel Memorial Library is located on the Genesee River in the heart of downtown Rochester, and is surrounded by public terraces on the north, east, and south sides of the building. The building and surrounding terraces were constructed on steel framing directly above the Johnson and Seymour raceway and adjacent former subway tunnels. Services requested by the City may include, but are not limited to, engineering inspection, evaluation, and maintenance and repair program development. We invite you to submit a proposal demonstrating qualifications for this work. An additional annual allotment of $20,000 is budgeted each year through 2029. This budget is subject to change based on funding availability at the time of agreement. The Project will focus on the locations and inspection levels shown in Table 2: Inspection Frequency for the years 2026-28, anticipated to be completed in the initial three-year term of the PSA. Additional locations will be added based on mutual agreement to extend the term of the PSA and the availability of sufficient funding. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
