Renovation of a municipal facility in Taylorsville, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Demolition of the existing fire deluge system, upgrade to the existing fire sprinkling system, upgrade to the existing fire alarm system, upgrade to the atrium smoke control system and new windows / walls to separate the atrium space from the adjacent occupied spaces. Budget: $1,000,000 Liquidated damages: $1,000 per day Questions deadline: 7/15/2025 The Work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Demolition of the existing fire deluge system, upgrade to the existing fire sprinkling system, upgrade to the existing fire alarm system, upgrade to the atrium smoke control system and new windows / walls to separate the atrium space from the adjacent occupied spaces. State of Utah employees and State of Utah construction projects often are required to perform Hot Work in existing buildings. Hot Work is considered all temporary operations involving open flames or producing heat and/or sparks, which includes, but is not limited to, grinding/cutting, brazing, soldering; thawing frozen pipes by torch; and torch applied roofing and welding. B. This activity presents a significant opportunity for fire and injury. Following the guidelines set forth in OSHA CFR 29 Part 1910.252, and in compliance with State adopted International Fire Code and NFPA 51B, 2019 Edition, the State of Utah requires that all precautions of the following program must be applied prior to commencing any welding or hot work by employees, general contractors and/or any subcontractors. C. In order to protect employees, contractors and the general public from hazards accompanying Hot Work activities, the following Hot Work Program has been adopted. General: Cooperate fully with Owner so work may be carried out smoothly, without interfering with or delaying work under this Contract or work by Owner. Coordinate the Work of this Contract with work performed by Owner. B. Concurrent Work: Owner will perform certain construction operations at Project site. Those operations will be conducted simultaneously with work under this Contract. We were hired by DFCM to survey the Calvin Rampton Building for a pending renovation to the deluge and fire sprinkler system. Samples were taken by Scott Bainbridge and tested at Reservoirs Environmental in Denver, Colorado. The results are included in this report.
